Park & Resort Metrics

Explore the attractions included in Ride Heights. Compare destination size, attraction mix, and recorded intensity to find places worth exploring with your family.

What do these numbers mean? ↓
Coverage, not a complete park inventory. Figures include active catalog entries only. A larger count means more included attractions—not a better park, more attractions your family can ride, or live availability.

Use the numbers to ask better questions

Compare like with like

Separate theme parks from water parks before comparing the attraction mix. A park with many water rides and one with many roller coasters can offer very different days, even when their totals are similar.

Look beyond the largest bar

A resort’s total combines multiple parks and can exceed any individual park’s count. It does not describe what you can fit into one visit. Use park grouping for individual destinations and resort grouping for the wider selection.

Make it personal

Counts and intensity help narrow your interests. Use the family planner for personal compatibility, then consult official park information for current operations and other visitor requirements.

Metrics glossary

Definitions for the figures, chart controls, and classifications on this page.

Included attraction
One active attraction record assigned to an active park in the Ride Heights catalog. Attraction totals include roller coasters, water rides, and other attractions. They describe our maintained selection, not necessarily every experience offered by an operator.
Active park
A park marked Active in the source workbook and included in the successful catalog build. Planned or inactive parks are excluded. Active describes catalog inclusion; it does not mean the park or its attractions are operating today.
Park count
The number of distinct included parks after the current search, country, and park-type filters. Each included park contributes once to the totals.
Resort
The resort or destination grouping assigned to a park in the workbook. Resort counts use distinct recorded resort names. A resort total adds the included attractions across its matching parks; it is not an average of park totals.
State / region
The state or regional location recorded for each park. States and regions are distinguished by country, so identical region names in different countries remain separate groups.
Country
The recorded country of each included park. Country totals sum attractions across the matching parks in that country. Location groupings describe catalog coverage, not the total size of a country’s theme park industry.
Theme park / water park
The park-level classification in the workbook. A water ride inside a theme park remains in the theme-park group. Selecting Water parks filters entire parks, rather than selecting all water rides wherever they are located.
Total attractions
The number of included attraction records in a group. Each attraction is counted once within a chosen grouping. Attraction-type counts add to this total, and intensity counts independently add to the same total; do not add the two breakdowns together.
Roller coasters
Attractions classified as Roller Coaster in the catalog. This is an attraction category, separate from the park’s type or an attraction’s intensity.
Water rides
Attractions classified as Water Ride in the catalog. These may belong to theme parks or water parks; the category does not imply that an entire park is a water park.
Other attractions
Included attractions classified as Other. This is a broad category for records not classified as roller coasters or water rides, and should not be interpreted as a single style of experience.
Intensity
The catalog’s descriptive classification of an attraction. Gentle, Moderate, and Thrilling support comparisons of the recorded attraction mix. They are not a standardized rating across operators or a safety, accessibility, or personal eligibility assessment.
Gentle
Attractions recorded with the Gentle intensity label. The label describes the catalog classification and does not guarantee suitability for a particular visitor.
Moderate
Attractions recorded with the Moderate intensity label. Visitor experience can differ, so review the operator’s own attraction description when deciding what your group enjoys.
Thrilling
Attractions recorded as Thrill or Thrilling. Both spellings are combined into this single chart category so the same classification is not split across labels.
Unspecified
Attractions with an empty or unrecognized intensity value. They remain in totals rather than being silently dropped. Unspecified does not mean Gentle or indicate a particular level of intensity.
Attraction mix and bar length
A stacked bar’s full length represents the group’s total attractions, scaled against the largest group currently displayed. Colored segments represent category or intensity counts. Equal colors identify the same classification across all groups; these are count comparisons, not 100% normalized bars.
Breakdown percentage
Each classification’s count divided by the selected group’s total attractions, multiplied by 100. These percentages are rounded to whole numbers and may not sum to exactly 100%. A group’s share of the filtered view uses all matching attractions as its denominator and is shown to one decimal place.
Search and filters
Search matches partial words in park, resort, state/region, and country names, ignoring case and accents. Multiple words must all match the same park’s destination information. Search, country, and park-type filters combine to select parks before grouping. Totals, charts, and group breakdowns all describe that same selection.
Group by and sort
Group by changes how matching parks are combined: individually or by resort, state/region, or country. Most attractions sorts by the group total, while Name A–Z sorts alphabetically. Changing the grouping or order does not add attractions to the filtered selection.
Catalog refresh
These metrics are calculated from the compiled workbook. They refresh when the workbook is successfully compiled and the updated site is deployed. They do not monitor live closures, wait times, reservations, or ticket availability.
